Gonna go ahead and expand this to the movie and as much of the comics as I know ;)

- The first character I fell in love with: Mal, despite being against my pretty-boy "type" at the time
- The character who is my ‘baby’: Inara
- The character who I do not understand: Book because they didn't give us any backstory for him.
- The character that I think the show ruined: does killing Wash count as ruining him? 'cause that
- The most attractive male and female character: prettiest = Simon and Inara.
- The character death that was the worst for me: Wash (no offense, Book, but yours was offscreen)
- The character that is the most like me: ... none of them are, really. Maaaybe Inara because I seem to have more old-fashioned manners than most of my peers and prefer to be over-dressed for any situation than under-.
- The character I think the writer(s) love: I think they loved all of them but it seemed like Wash was the most fun to write (assuming it wasn't just Alan ad-libbing, which is a very real possibility). Possibly Mal.
- The character that I just want to be happy: Zoe. I hope she finds joy in raising her daughter. Wash would hate to see her sad and if anyone is capable of picking themselves up and moving on from a tragedy, it's her.
- My four favorite characters, past or present: Inara, Mal, Zoe, Kaylee
- My four least favorite characters, past or present: Jayne, Niska, Badger, the Operative. Honorable mention to Atherton Wing and Rance Burgess, douchebags extraordinaire

I think they kind of suggested with the movie and comics that Book was once an Operative. I really like that idea of a backstory personally. That he did really horrible things for the Alliance, and found religion as a result of his guilty feelings over those things.

Yeah the doing horrible things and turning to religion for redemption is either very heavy subtext or fandom headcanon. I just would have liked to _see_ it, what exactly he did and what finally turned him, how long he's been a Shepherd, etc.
