Book #17 - The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Still working my way through the Narnia books. This is one I know I've read and can remember reading, but not exactly when. Probably years and years ago (see next entry).

Lucy and Edmund return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace (if you think Ed was a douchebag in LWW wait 'til you meet this guy), and they travel with Caspian and Reepicheep on the Dawn Treader into the far east, looking for the seven lords Miraz sent away when he usurped the throne. High adventure, and a teeny tiny bit of romance if you squint hard enough, ensues. This is the one most people I know say is their favorite, and it's a very close second with me.

Title: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (my cover doesn't look like this, but innit pretty?)
Author: C.S. Lewis
Pages: 271

17 / 24 books. 71% done!

They've cast Eustace already (Will Poulter, from Son of Rambow), and I think he'll be excellent in Dawn Treader.

On the IMDB page for Dawn Treader they just list Caspian and the Pevensies. All four of them. wtf?

Clearly IMDb is a bit behind. So far as I know, NarniaWeb is a better source for news, akin to The Leaky Cauldron for HP.

My puzzlement was more over the inclusion of William Moseley and Anna Popplewell.

"Peter and Susan don't feature in this story - at least not in the one C.S Lewis wrote."

Heh. Who knows what those screenwriters will come up with?

I'm actually glad I watched Caspian before reading it. 'Cause I think I would probably be up in arms at the extremely loose adaptation. But in that case I think it was necessary because the book was fairly weak. Here's hoping they don't feel they need to take such liberties with Dawn Treader...

They might be part of the very beginning before they enter Narnia. Only thing I can think of.
