Woot! DSL!!
My dad, in whose house I am living, has finally joined the 21st century and gotten DSL!! I am _so_ jazzed. Dial-up can go do something inappropriate with a goat or something for all I care. Well, at least once I'm done with it. See, only dad's computer has the DSL. We need an ethernet cable to run down to my computer. So mine here is still only dial-up capable. Which would be fine if dad's computer weren't fussier than my daughter. Whenever it's shut down or restarted, sometimes it doesn't restart. It'll show this black screen with the word "Compaq" and a blinking cursor in the corner, and just stay there. Sometimes for _days_. And it's doing that now. So although we have this super-nice, fast connection in the house (finally!), I'm still stuck using my computer and pokey-dokey dial-up. Grrrrrr.
But I am still very excited about the fact that the DSL is there, and at least a possibility.

Sounds like your dad's computer could do with a fix up though. (Perhaps the 'throw it out and get a shiny new one' type of repair work ^_^)
This dial-up diva has no immediate prospects of DSL or BB at home and so wishes
a pox upon theeyou all the best with your new connection in an entirely non-jealous fashion.no subject

You have to get all the gremlins first. I prefer using small dragons myself, but some find a sledgehammer rather theraputic after day 188 of not quite ADSL.
May you not hit that stage.
