For my baby girl,
And for my mom; I never knew the depth of her love for me until I had a child of my own.

The greatest miracle of my life is the tiny blue-eyed angel
God gave to me last spring:
She came into my world and changed everything.
Now I can’t imagine life without her –
How could I live without that smile, those eyes, that cute button nose,
That sweet little voice and those chubby toes?
My world revolves around
Twenty pounds of giggles and red-blonde hair
Clinging to my fingers and walking everywhere.
I’m fascinated by all that she does,
The way she snuggles in when I hug her,
And looks at the world with a sense of wonder.
I see myself when I look in her eyes:
An old soul staring back through an innocent face
I know we’ve been together before, in another time and place.
She has my loved ones in her:
My mom’s chatter and my brother’s crazy hair,
When she smiles I feel like my grandmother’s there.
I don’t know what I did to deserve such blessing -
I know she was sent from above,
For me to live for, learn from, and love.
