Anniversary

It's my anniversary today. And, boy, is it just about the biggest non-event ever (other than Y2K). Granted, given the situation, it makes sense that no cards or gifts were sent, or even a phone call, but it still feels kind of odd. The only contact I had with Johnnie today was a very short video chat session, whose purpose was to let the folks on his end see Morgan. As we were wrapping up, amidst the goodbyes, I said, "by the way, happy anniversary." And he said, "same to you." And that was it.

Two years ago... I was getting everything I wanted; a husband, a baby who had just started to kick the night before, we were surrounded by family and friends and it was so warm and happy.

Funny how fast things can go to shit, eh?
