1. Elaborate on your default icon.
Nynaeve al'Meara from the Wheel of Time series. When we first meet her, she's quite grumpy and those who know her tread carefully because she's got a short fuse. But the timeframe of this pic is several books into the series, after... something significant happens to calm her down. And that's a lot of what I'm feeling right now (and for similar reasons). Even if one doesn't know the character, it's still a beautiful pic, but I find it has a little deeper emotional significance because it's _Nynaeve_ looking peaceful and serene.

EDITED after Alan's departure to once again be Miranda looking wistfully out to sea. Reasons for this should be obvious.

2. What's your current relationship status?
Having so informed my family (over a very yummy roast lamb dinner), alphadsnz_fb and I are officially a couple now. The phrasing is thanks to my grandmother, who took issue with the "we're going out" explanation and said, "You should say, 'we're a couple.'" Initially I rolled my eyes at this, but I've come to like it because once he's in Scotland, we obviously will not actually be "going out," but will very much remain emotionally connected.

3. Ever have a near-death experience?
No, but I've experienced birth twice, does that count? (Granted, I only remember one of them - thank God.)

4. Name an obvious quality you have.
Alan says I'm "chirpy." Incredulous, I shared this with my mother, whom I expected to reply with, "Yeah, well wait until he sees you on low food," which is my opinion of myself (yay hypoglycemia! ... not). Instead she goes, "Well, he's right." So apparently it's obvious, just not to me.

5. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
One of Weird Al's polka medleys. Alan's big-storage iPod is both a blessing and a curse.

6. Any celebrity you would marry?
Keith Urban.

Probably alphadsnz_fb because this kind of mindless amusement is good.

8. Has anyone ever said you look like a celebrity?
When I was thirteen and had a perm, I was told I looked like Kim Basinger.

My cell phone is my watch. Can't be bothered to replace the batteries in any of the three wristwatches I own.

Each ear once.

11. Do you have any tattoos?
Not yet.

12. Do you like pain?
I don't _like_ it, but I have a pretty high threshold for it. I should also mention at this time that there is a noticeable distinction in my mind between "pain" and little annoyances, for which I have practically no threshold whatsoever.

Shopping? What's that? Isn't that something you have to have money for?

14. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Last time I had cash was the last time I had a paycheck, which was mid-May.

15. What was the last thing you paid for with your credit/debit card?
Gas, Frappacino, and a Sobe at the gas station in Crane Flat on Sunday.

16. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
Johnnie.

17. What is on your desktop background?
This (sorry it's big). It's a painting by my mom, which my brother used as a test subject for his new digital camera.

A young monkey ('cause Morgan's a Monkey, in many senses).

To the point that I want to be one.

Two sets.

We're all weird.
