I'm in, I'm in! I got them all! Didn't even have to _touch_ my alternates.

God must love me.

Now I just need to get my books.

As I mentioned in my last post, I was able to register for all the classes I wanted (once the online registration system finally let me log in, that is). So I'm taking Russian, Intro to Linguistics, Geology and the Environment, and a child development class (should come in handy these days, eh?). I managed to avoid resorting to the two English classes I found last night as an additional back-up, but which would have resulted in _much_ more homework and extra reading, so I am a very happy camper.

I went to the campus bookstore and got the list of books and their prices, then came home and found them on Amazon for insanely less (esp. the used ones). All except for my Intro to Linguistics, which doesn't really have a textbook, apparently: it's a photocopied "study guide" which they say should be available later this week. Oh, and I have to pay full bookstore price for my Russian books, as it's a text and a lab manual, and I could only find the text by itself online - no corresponding workbook anywhere. Oh well. Hopefully dad will be pleased enough with how much I've managed to save on the others.

I did some banking - I have this tin where I toss all my loose change, and last night I actually went through it and found I have enough for six rolls of pennies and one of dimes. I'm only short by two for a roll of nickels. Grr. Anyway, so I counted out and bagged up my pennies and dimes and took them to the bank and rolled them up, and now I am $8 richer. Woo-hoo. I have this cute little wad of bills in my "secret stash" now.

And I went to the Social Security Administration and filled out an application for a replacement card. It didn't take as long as I thought it would, and my passport being in my maiden name didn't even make the woman behind the desk blink. Beautiful. The new card should be in my mailbox in ~2 weeks. I'll go in to Financial Aid tomorrow and tell them what's up and make sure they're okay with just the marriage cert. in the meantime.

*contented sigh* I might just have to treat myself to some brownies and WoW for being such a good kid.
