I've actually done my homework for every day this week, and studied for my Russian quiz yesterday and my Anthro and Comp exams today and even the Russian quiz tomorrow, too. Woo, novel, I know, but it is for me.

Back in the days when I was actually doing homework on a regular basis and in a timely manner (junior high), I never noticed how much doing so made classtime so much easier. I figured I was just naturally smart and classes felt so easy because it was public school and they were catering to the lowest common denominator (which was someone much less clever than myself, of course). And I figured that college classes felt so much harder because they were _college_ and were supposed to be that way.

But OMG I do my homework for Russian, and I can actually participate in class without feeling like I'm holding everyone back by taking too long to translate things and asking Профессор to explain things that I should have read in the textbook. Whoa, whodathunkit!

So yes, I'm feeling very pleased with myself. So much so that I think I'm going to play some WoW when I get home from school today, 'cause I cayun, and be guilt-free about it. (WoW on a weeknight?! OMG)

So I just took the Comp test I mentioned in my last entry. We had to read eight short stories (one of which was Hills Like White Elephants. Eugh. Hemingway), not knowing exactly what about the stories we would be asked to write on. So I did so, bought my Blue Book, came to class and wrote my essay (How would the story be different if written from a different PoV? Would it be more effective if it had been?). At the end of the hour, the teacher says to close the books, put down our pens, and "the good news is that I will not be grading these. You've just written the rough drafts of your next essays, which are due on Tuesday." Buzwha?!
