Apr. 1st, 2007 11:40 pmWell, the weekend has been lovely. Aside from a little snafu in the airport on our way out (somehow I'd booked Morgan's ticket for Thursday and mine and Alan's for Friday - how'd I not catch that?!), things went smoothly. Morgan is a very good flier. The lady sitting in the row behind us complemented us (me, I suppose) on Morgan being so well-behaved. *beams*
Dropping Morgan off at Johnnie's went nice and smoothly, too. I had drawn up a bit of a contract just listing all the various things he and I had agreed to between ourselves over the past few years, just for the sake of having it all down in one place and getting a final agreement. We both signed and dated it, and now he owes me $2000+ for the car I left him with and for Morgan's plane tickets. This is not counting the reimbursement he owes me for his half of our divorce proceedings. And he signed without even a niggle. It was amazing.
Spent Saturday in Nevada (the town, not the state); didn't get to visit the Doc, though. Turns out he came down with the flu on Thursday and thus was way behind grading papers and whatnot anyway, so visiting wouldn't have been great.
We finally managed to put a bra on the "Friends We Are" statue outside of the library (three stylized females sitting and talking/laughing). Caroline has wanted to do that for _years_ and she finally actually went to Wal-Mart and bought a 44DD bra with convertible straps so we didn't have to actually slip it over the statue's arms.
Wonder if it's still there or how long it was until someone took it down. A cop drove by while we were doing it, and didn't even slow down. Heh.
Today was a very nice mellow day. Since the Doc is sick, Alan and I didn't go back down to Nevada to see him, but I called him and we chatted for about half an hour, which was very nice. I miss him. Then I took Alan to the Plaza and we walked around a bit and bought Morgan birthday presents from the Discovery Channel Store and myself some books which we realized too late we might not have room for in our suitcases. Oops.
Then we came back to the hotel and I took a nap (why am I so tired all the time?!), then showered and got dressed up for Alan to take me out to dinner, as he promised he would if I got an A last semester (спасибо, Профессор!). Alan was very snappy too in a dark red dress shirt and very dark navy blue pantsthat his ass looks fantastic in. As we were walking to the restaurant, my hand on his arm instead of holding hands ('cause we're old-school like that), a lady stopped her car and waved us across the crosswalk, then rolled down her window and called out to us, "You just looked so cute, I couldn't not stop for you!" *big cheesy grin* Yes, we scrub up pretty well.
So my belly is now full of very good Chinese food and two yummylicious martinis (don't tell Hertz that I let Alan drive the car, though I think they would have been more upset if I'd tried it tonight). Alan thinks I'm adorable when I'm tipsy. I have no idea what he's talking about.
