Mar. 22nd, 2008 07:40 pmAh, Easter. The family reunion, the mad rush for eggs, the probably unhealthy munchies, the first sunburn of the season...
Rew came with me to Teri & Doug's (Mom's cousins), which was nice because he hadn't been in a few years. Several people didn't even recognize him. Morgan had a blast trying to play ping-pong and then running around with a big bubble wand which the lady who had brought them ended up giving to her, along with a big bottle of solution. My little patio isn't really big enough to go chasing bubbles, so a trip to the park may be in order.
I totally forgot sunblock. Mom got some from Teri and put it on Morgan when it occurred to me after we'd already been there for a couple hours, but I thought _I_ had done a pretty good job of staying in the shade. Apparently not. Glad I wasn't in a strapless dress like last year. I hope for Morgan's sake she has her father's skin and doesn't burn as easily as me. Rew got it pretty good on his forehead, too, though some of that might already have been there as he went snowboarding earlier this week.
The plate on which I'd brought my "magic cookie bars" (graham cracker crust, condensed milk, chocolate and butterscotch chips, sprinkled with coconut) was empty by the time we left, which is a good sign. It's pretty depressing when you take a dish to a party and at the end of the thing all that's missing is one piece.
