Where was I? Ah, new year's

Yes, so Alan and I went down to de Vere's and had a lovely time. We need to go there some time when the kitchen is open because their menu looks NOM. We got all gussied up (because we never get to), and two women in line for the ladies' room declared I should be in a ballroom instead of a bar. And Alan reports that someone told him, "Dude, your girlfriend's hot." :DD Nice to know that my extra fifteen-twenty pounds don't matter much when I'm wearing a dress that shows my whole sternum and then some. Aside from its slinky material making me slide off the stool I was trying to sit on, it's a very comfy dress. I shall have to wear it again some time.

After last call we decided we should get something in our stomachs other than booze (though we had eaten dinner before we went out), and so ended up at Denny's where I had to threaten Alan with a fork to BACK OFF MY FRIES. Very different group of people in Denny's than we had been surrounded with at the pub. There was a table full of cowboys and their dates, and another of punkers in kilts and hoodies, and several... girls of a certain ethnicity wearing outfits no girls of another ethnicity would get away with. Nice and p.c. huh? Use your imagination, these girls sure did.

Then we came home and enjoyed not having a Morgan on the other side of the bedroom wall. ;)
