Frustration
Aug. 18th, 2004 05:02 pmMorgan is just _not_ going for this rice cereal business. We tried spoon-feeding from a bowl, but she just won't open her mouth. So we tried putting the mix into a bottle, which she didn't like, either. She won't even take breastmilk from a bottle (which she used to). I'm not tough enough to just let her cry and get hungry enough to eat _anything_ (which, unfortunately, is the way I think it'll have to go).
Mom is planning a girls' outing on Saturday; me, her, and two of her friends to see the Scarlet Pimpernel at the Music Circus. The last time, just the two of us went, and I was able to leave Morgan with my grandmother, which was fine because she was still taking bottles at that point. But Grandma won't be in town this Saturday, so I'd have to leave Morgan with Johnnie, which means he'd have to take her to work with him until our show let out and I could come get her. It would probably amount to just the first two hours of his shift, and he says he'd be working inside on the schedule for next week anyway. So it would work out just fine, if Morgan would just TAKE THE BOTTLE AGAIN. Grr.
I really want to go, for a number of reasons. (1)It's an opportunity to hang out with my mom, which I've been missing since we each got married. (2)I've never seen/read/listened to The Scarlet Pimpernel, and I'd like to. (3)I could really use this break. Morgan comes to work with me every day and I'm the only person who can make just about anything okay, so even when Johnnie's home, if she starts crying, he hands her off to me. I know it sounds bad, but it's exhausting. And she's a wonderful baby, too, other than this bottle thing. It scares me to think of what it would be like to have a less well-behaved baby.
Yikes.
