My cousin Becca called today, and said she'd moved out of her apartment and back in with her mom, but she was thinking about getting another place, and invited me to get in on it with her. Cool! That would be great to live with Bec! I'm getting to the point with my job-hunting up here that I'm considering starting to apply down in Sacramento, anyway, just for the sake of having _something_. But the commute would be a bitch (esp. since I'm driving dad's fuel-inefficient Jeep), so if I did that, I'd need/want to get a place down there pretty quickly. _But_ I can't very well take either of dad's cars down there with me. So I need to work up here for long enough to have money for a car, and then I'd be able to move down to Sac. Well, if I were able to get a job up here, I wouldn't have to move! Grr.
Then there's the matter of my credit rating. I'm sure I'd be refused on any rental application. And that's going to take a while to fix (again, requires me to get a job up here in the meantime).
So I'm stuck. I don't know how quickly Becca would want to move, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to wait the however-many months it'll take me to square out my credit (and then keep it clear for, whatever, six months I think). What would be great is if she - with her mom's help, probably - is able to get into a place as soon as she wants, and live there by herself until I am able to join her and pick up half the rent and whatnot. Probably not, though; if she were able and/or willing to carry rent on her own, she wouldn't have needed to ask me to room with her.
Harumph.
