Five word questions
Dec. 31st, 2005 10:53 am1) What word irks you everytime you hear someone say it?
Like
ktbee and "supposably," mine is a word that doesn't exist (well, it does, but it shouldn't). Dad is overfond of "irregardless." Gah! He uses it _all_ the time! Not only is it not a real word, but like "I could care less," it means the opposite of what it's used for.
(And just for the record, "irk" is a great word)
2) What is your favorite word?
I tend to use "beautiful" a lot lately.
3) What does it mean?
beautiful = wonderful, in the context I've been using it.
4) What word do you say far too often?
Probably "indeed."
And "dude" has alarming frequency, though it's usually only when I'm speaking to my brother. (Katie, the boys are probably why it's creeping into your vocabulary, too.)
5) Name three words you think other people overuse:
Hmm. Overusing doesn't bother me as much as misusing (see # 1), so I don't really notice.
