Took my Language, Culture, and Critical Thinking midterm this morning. I feel kind of meh about it. Things were going great with the multiple-choice section and the short answers/data analyses. But then there was an essay question. Worth 17 points. It asked us to refer to some of the non-textbook readings we've had (online articles), which is rather hard to do when the things aren't there in front of you. The prompt is this hypothetical, "you are advising this public official on this particular item of language-related legislation. Using [this source], explain whether it is possible to enact said legislation, etc." The source unequivocably states that it would be _impossible_, but I disagree with the source and think the metaphor the author used to prove her point is stretching things a bit too far. So yeah. I think that essay by itself is C-worthy, but hopefully the other sections will be enough to get at least a B on the thing as a whole. Bleh. I was enjoying this string of A's.
