Feb. 24th, 2008 11:59 pmDad and Mom and Morgan and I saw Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes this evening. It was _fantastic_. Dad got us seats in the very very front row, and we were only two seats down from the aisle, so when the characters came off the ice to walk among the audience, they came right by us. Sebastian shook Morgan's hand _twice_.
And whoa dude there was this _huge_ dragon during the Sleeping Beauty part, and it actually spat flames and SET THE ICE ON FIRE. Morgan sort of freaked out and hid behind my arm but I was like "That is the coolest thing _ever_." We were close enough we could actually feel the heat from the flames. My theatre-trained eyes saw a figure in black sneaking backstage with what looked like a big water gun and I had a moment of "wtf?" before the fire stuff and I realized s/he must have squirted lighter fluid or something. _So_ cool.
Just like at the Nutcracker, Morgan stood up and started spinning in circles and jumping along with the skaters, until an usher came by and told us she needed to stay in her seat. Guess that's the bad thing about sitting in the front row. But gosh it was so awesome and I think my Dad is probably the coolest Grandpa in the world right now.
